Molly Maxwell

Molly was the oldest undergraduate in the country, gaining her degree on her 104th birthday. Mrs. Maxwell lived in Hampstead for most of her life and was one of the pioneering women students at Cambridge who despite passing all the exams, were unable to graduate because of their gender.

Joan Lawson

Joan was a renowned dancer and teacher at The Royal Ballet School.

Leonard Boden

Leonard a Scottish painter who produced 10 portraits of the Queen and the only portrait of Pope Pius XII. Boden was said to have been one of the Queen’s favourite portraitists. Boden painted 10 portraits of the Queen, and after some 70 sittings, came to know her well. His quiet humour and talent for storytelling ensured that her expression remained amused and alert.
